Pankaj Aggarwal, Chief Financial Officer, Kalpa Power says, “I’m excited to join Kalpa Power at a time when the Indian energy sector is at a historic tipping point”.

“I look forward to working closely with Rounak and the leadership team to build a robust financial roadmap that supports our ambitious 2030 goals and delivers long-term value to stakeholders”.

Previously, Kalpa Power launched WATTBANK, the first commercialized Battery Energy Storage Service (BESS) in the country specifically catered to commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. WATTBANK allows companies to realize a 50 percent reduction in evening peak tariffs, leading to approximately Rs.80 lakh to Rs.1 crore in annual savings for a standard 1 MW facility.

By storing solar energy during daylight hours and distributing it efficiently during expensive evening periods, the system effectively manages energy costs. The initial deployment of a 130 kW system at Amar Business Zone in Pune is part of a holistic solar-based infrastructure, transforming the site into a fully sustainable operation with net-zero energy consumption.

WATTBANK is presented as a packaged service that includes energy evaluations, customized storage system design, comprehensive installation, continuous data monitoring, and thorough management throughout the entire lifecycle.
