LinkedIn has appointed Daniel Shapero as its new CEO, succeeding Ryan Roslansky, in a leadership transition focused on guiding the platform through an AI-driven transformation in the workplace.

The change is immediate, with Shapero advancing from his position as chief operating officer.

Shapero joined LinkedIn in 2008 as the general manager of the LinkedIn Research Network. His promotion signifies the ongoing internal leadership at the Microsoft-owned firm.

The decision is part of LinkedIn's efforts to enhance its role in a changing, AI-powered professional environment.

The platform boasts over 1.3 billion members worldwide and accounted for 6.3% of Microsoft’s yearly revenue in 2025, highlighting its strategic significance within the organization.

The transition in leadership demonstrates LinkedIn’s increasing focus on artificial intelligence as it adjusts to evolving workforce trends. Roslansky emphasized the magnitude of this shift, stating, “AI will change the way individuals work and advance in their careers more rapidly than many anticipate,” as reported by Reuters.

In another development, the firm designated Mohak Shroff as president of Platforms and Digital Work, indicating a wider organizational restructuring focused on technology and product innovation.
