
LOTTE India’s Havmor Ice Cream Names Debabrata Mukherjee as MD

After Komal Anand left to become Managing Director at Creambell, LOTTE India has appointed Debabrata Mukherjee as the new Managing Director of its Ice Cream Division, specifically for Havmor Ice Cream.
Mukherjee will be responsible for guiding the strategic vision and promoting business expansion of LOTTE India's ice cream brand portfolio, focusing on fostering innovation and growth for Havmor Ice Cream.
With more than 30 years of expertise in leadership roles, business strategy development, marketing, and innovation, Mukherjee comes well-equipped for this position. Prior to this role, he worked as Managing Director and CEO at Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Ltd, where he simultaneously served as Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors.

Sharing his thoughts on joining the company, Debabrata Mukherjee says, "I have spent a few years of my professional life in Seoul and have had the opportunity to experience the agility, innovation, and leadership that LOTTE is known for".

Over the past twenty years, he occupied executive leadership positions at The Coca-Cola Company throughout India, South Korea, and South-West Asia. Additionally, he spearheaded strategic and revenue enhancement programs at Hindustan Times, managed customer-focused portfolio development at United Breweries Group, and functioned as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Emami Agrotech Ltd, overseeing the edible oils sector and maintaining complete profit and loss accountability for the Foods segment.

Following the successful merger between Lotte and Havmor, the confectionery giant Lotte Group anticipates achieving revenues of approximately Rs.3,000 crore by 2027, representing a 71 percent increase from the current Rs.1,750 crore in 2024.
The organization has planned investments totaling Rs.475 crore in India through December 2026, with Rs.225 crore designated specifically for Pepero. Earlier this month, Lotte Wellfood announced the successful consolidation of its two Indian operations — Lotte India and Havmor Ice Cream — creating a unified entity for the group's confectionery and food divisions.

The company formally introduced Lotte Pepero, South Korea's leading biscuit snack brand under Lotte Wellfood. Pepero's introduction represents a significant milestone for Lotte India and appeals to India's emerging generation of snack enthusiasts. Manufacturing takes place domestically at Lotte India's advanced production facility in Rohtak, Haryana, marking the company's entry into the biscuit snack market with products specifically created and packaged to attract India's dynamic Generation Z and Millennial demographics.
