Additionally, he has plans to deliver a speech at a public event at Seva Teerth scheduled for approximately 6 pm. As per the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the ministries that have been moved to Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 comprise the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) characterized the inauguration as a significant turning point in India's administrative governance structure, showcasing the Prime Minister's goal of establishing a contemporary, effective, inclusive, and citizen-focused governance framework.
The need to relocate ministries was driven by the Prime Minister's Office because of what was described as fragmented and outdated infrastructure situated in various locations within the Central Vista area. It was stated that this scattered presence resulted in operational inefficiencies, coordination difficulties, rising maintenance expenses, and less than optimal working conditions.

“The new building complexes address these issues by consolidating administrative functions within modern, future-ready facilities,” the PMO says.
Both facilities are equipped with digitally integrated offices, organized public interface areas, and centralized reception services. It is anticipated that these initiatives will foster cooperation, enhance productivity, simplify administrative procedures, boost citizen involvement, and prioritize employee welfare.
The buildings are purposefully constructed to adhere to 4-Star GRIHA standards, incorporating renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building envelopes.
“The building complexes also include comprehensive safety and security frameworks, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a secure and accessible environment for officials and visitors,” the PMO adds.

Since the year 2014, the administration under Prime Minister Modi has consistently implemented measures to distance itself from remnants of India's colonial history and promote a change in mindset. Several significant changes have been implemented, such as the transfer of the Prime Minister's Office from South Block to the recently constructed Seva Teerth complex.
Additionally, the Central Secretariat has been rebranded as Kartavya Bhavan, Rajpath has been renamed Kartavya Path, Race Course Road is now known as Lok Kalyan Marg, and numerous Raj Bhavans and Raj Niwas throughout the nation have been designated as Lok Bhavan or Lok Niwas.
