Polycab Names Gyan Pandey as Chief Digital & Information Officer

imgPolycab India announced the appointment of Gyan Pandey as Executive President and Chief Digital & Information Officer. His official start date in this role is February 16, 2026. The decision to bring Pandey on board reflects the organization's strategic shift towards enhancing its digital transformation efforts.

Pandey has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Calcutta, along with management certifications from prestigious institutions such as IIM-Bangalore and IIM-Calcutta.

With a career spanning over 25 years in the field of information technology, he has held significant leadership positions at esteemed organizations such as Voltas, Aurobindo Pharma, and Oracle. His areas of expertise include enterprise digital strategy, IoT-led manufacturing, data platforms, and the implementation of scalable AI and GenAI technologies.

In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the digital, IT, and cybersecurity functions of the company. The appointment coincides with Polycab announcing impressive third-quarter financial results.

In Q3 FY26, the company experienced a 46 percent year-on-year increase and an 18 percent sequential increase in revenue from operations, reaching Rs 7,636.1 crore. This growth was primarily propelled by the strong performance of its Wires & Cables (W&C) and Fast-Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) segments.

The W&C business experienced a 53 percent year-on-year increase, attributed to robust domestic demand and trends in commodity prices, whereas the FMEG segment saw a growth of 17 percent. The EPC business generated revenues totaling Rs 406.9 crore, representing a 4% year-on-year growth.

The company's pre-tax profits saw a substantial 37 percent year-on-year growth, reaching Rs 842 crore, but experienced a nine percent sequential decline. EBITDA also showed a healthy 34 percent year-on-year increase to Rs 966 crore, although the margins decreased from 15.8 percent to 12.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.

Polycab India recently debuted a new promotional campaign centered around a television commercial that highlights the company's contribution to the safety and enjoyment of festivals in India.

 

The movie depicts the celebratory atmosphere throughout the nation, from the Garba celebrations in Gujarat to the Golu traditions in the South, and from the Pujo festivities in Bengal to the touching homecoming of an Army officer for Diwali.

Central to each scene are the skilled electricians, portrayed as the reliable professionals responsible for installing and servicing Polycab's electrical products such as wires, cables, switches, fans, and lighting fixtures to ensure the safety and brightness of homes and public areas.

Salim-Sulaiman's soundtrack seamlessly integrates traditional components with contemporary influences, resulting in a distinctive and memorable auditory experience. In addition to showcasing festive occasions, the movie also underscores Polycab's essential contribution to India's infrastructure development, particularly in the areas of transportation, such as metros, tunnels, and bridges.

Shwetal Basu, Senior Vice President of Brand and Marketing Communications at Polycab India, emphasized the importance of safety during festivals. She expressed pride in Polycab's role as a reliable provider of electrical connections that illuminate homes, safeguard valuables, and enhance the spirit of celebration in India.

Sean Gomes, a partner at R K SWAMY, emphasized the vibrant and joyful nature of India's festival season. He expressed the desire to pay tribute to the essential role played by electricians in bringing light to the festivities, through a lively jingle featuring music by Salim-Sulaiman. This jingle was chosen to embody Polycab's commitment to providing a safe and happy connection for the people of India.
