India's leading industrial firms, spearheaded by Reliance Industries, the Adani group, and the Vedanta group, promised various investments in multiple sectors within the Northeast region of the nation.

During the Rising North East Investors Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the diversity of the Northeast is its greatest asset, and each state in the area is expressing its eagerness for investment and leadership.

The Northeast is becoming a crucial hub for two important sectors -- energy and semiconductors.

He mentioned that the inaugural Made-in-India chip from a semiconductor facility in the Northeast will be launched soon, marking a significant achievement for the area that will create opportunities for advanced technology and reinforce the region's role in India's high-tech industrial development.

The Northeast used to be linked to explosives, firearms, and barriers that greatly affected chances for its young people. "Our administration maintains a zero-tolerance stance towards terrorism and insurgency."

During the opening session of the Rising Northeast Investors Summit in New Delhi, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, announced that the group plans to increase its investments in the region to over Rs.75,000 crore within five years, covering areas such as digital infrastructure, clean energy, retail, healthcare, and sports.

“Reliance has invested around Rs.30,000 crore in the past 40 years. In the next five years, we will more than double our investments,” says Ambani, adding that the initiative is expected to create over 2.5 million direct and indirect jobs.
