Reliance Retail Buys Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Brand Anomaly

Reliance Retail Limited (RRL) declared its acquisition of Anomaly, a haircare line established by actress and businesswoman Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
This acquisition grants RRL complete ownership of the brand's trademarks, digital resources, and intellectual property rights.
The agreement broadens Reliance Retail's range of beauty products, granting it authority over a brand that has established distribution channels in various international markets since its inception in 2021.

The financial specifics of the acquisition have not been made public. Anomaly, recognized as a clean, vegan, and high-performance haircare line offered at affordable prices, is set to rapidly expand through Reliance Retail's extensive network of over 20,000 outlets and its digital commerce platform, Tira.
The firm has stated that India will be its primary market, emphasizing product innovation tailored to the specific needs of Indian hair and scalp.
Additionally, the company plans to extend its reach internationally to regions such as North America, the UK and the Middle East. Priyanka Chopra Jonas will continue her affiliation with the brand in a redefined role as Creative Director, where she will be responsible for guiding innovation, steering brand vision, and leading product development.
Isha Ambani, who serves as the Executive Director at Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, characterized the acquisition as a strategic move aimed at developing a collection of rapidly expanding beauty brands.

She highlighted Anomaly's international market presence and commitment to clean formulations as pivotal elements in this decision.
Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, as the principal entity, conducts operations encompassing the sectors of grocery, consumer electronics, fashion and lifestyle, as well as pharmaceuticals. For the fiscal year concluded on March 31, 2026, it announced a consolidated turnover amounting to Rs.3,70,026 crore, alongside an EBITDA totaling Rs.27,033 crore.

Furthermore, the company boasts a registered customer base exceeding 387 million individuals. The acquisition signifies a strategic effort by Reliance Retail to expand its influence in India's rapidly expanding beauty and personal care market, by merging its extensive retail operations with well-established consumer brands.
