Shailja Verghese Steps Down from Omnicom Media Group

Shailja Verghese, who held the position of Chief Content Officer at Omnicom Media Group India, has tendered her resignation from the company. Her departure marks one of the initial senior-level exits as the organization experiences a broader restructuring in the aftermath of Omnicom's takeover of IPG.
However, her decision to leave is believed to be unrelated to the ongoing consolidation efforts. Verghese's exit coincides with Omnicom Media Group's forthcoming strategic modifications in response to IPG's worldwide consolidation.

Verghese, also known as Shailja Saraswati Verghese, is a prominent figure in the field of media and content strategy, boasting close to two decades of professional experience spanning various platforms including television networks, streaming services, and digital content agencies.
Throughout her career, she has held top-level positions at esteemed organizations like ZEE5, Wavemaker SEA, National Geographic Channels, Discovery Communications, and UTV Network, operating within the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2021, she assumed the position of Head of Content at Omnicom Media Group India, subsequently advancing to the role of Chief Content Officer. Within this capacity, she spearheaded the consolidation of the network's content functions into a cohesive entity named "OMG Content," which provided services to various brands within OMD, PHD, and other Omnicom agencies.
