Vegesna stressed the critical role of robust digital infrastructure in harnessing the full potential of AI to produce tangible results.

He also made mention of Sify's inaugural environmentally sustainable hyperscale data center, Noida 01, which caters to a multitude of enterprise, government, and hyperscale clients.

Additionally, Meta is said to be seeking collaboration with Sify Technologies for the development of a 500MW data center in Andhra Pradesh, India. Sify is planning to inject approximately RS 15,266 crore ($1.7bn) into the project, which will be situated in Paradesipslem village, approximately 25km away from Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag. Meta will be utilizing data center space from Sify, as well as strategically locating its Waterworth subsea cable at Sify's landing station within the region.

Sify recently commenced construction on the landing station site and an accompanying 50MW data center, demonstrating their commitment to expanding their infrastructure. In March 2024, reports surfaced that Meta was exploring the possibility of setting up a data center in India, specifically considering leasing space at a Digital Connexion facility in Chennai. The state of Andhra Pradesh has been experiencing a rise in data center operations.

Sify Technologies is currently operating multiple data centers throughout India. Earlier this year, the company revealed its intention to allocate $5 billion toward the expansion of its data center operations.

Subsequently, Sify Technologies commenced the development of its initial phase, a 130MW data center complex located near Chennai, and initiated construction on a facility in Lucknow. Furthermore, reports in August indicated that the company was in the process of considering an initial public offering (IPO) in the Indian market.
