Social Media Platform ShareChat Takes Over Video Production Company HPF Films

Indian social media platform, ShareChat acquires HPF Films, a video production company. The acquisition is expected to strengthen the company and its content ecosystem by aiding in improving creator network and providing better advertising solutions for brands for both ShareChat and its Moj, its new short-video platform.

Commenting on the acquisition, Manohar Charan, VP - Corporate Development and Strategic Finance, ShareChat, says, “As ShareChat continues on the aggressive growth journey, it is important for us to invest and build capabilities required to sustain growth on a large base. This acquisition will help us build a framework for our creators and nurture them to evolve as influencers on the platform. Moreover, HPF’s strength on the creative side will also help us in creating innovative, high performing advertising solutions for the brands looking at engaging with our audiences.”

HPF Films was launched in 2018, it has been producing contents that include digital advertisements, web series, short films, and documentaries. Also, the company has worked with more than 20 brands such as Meesho, ixigo, OKCredit, Ola Cabs, and more. Alongside its popular shows include Zindagi Express, The Dating Scientist, What The Goat, Ishq Mohalla, and Stones & Wounds.
Furthermore, HPF Films has created content across 12 Indian languages. Presently, it owns more than 100 channels across multiple digital platforms and has built a network of over 120 collaborating artists.

Post the acquisition, a team of 25 members from HPF Films has already joined ShareChat and they would be contributing towards digital marketing, content operations, creative solutions, and creator management for both ShareChat and Moj.
