Tata Electronics and Bosch have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together in the electronics and semiconductor sectors.  The partnership will concentrate on the manufacturing and packaging of semiconductor chips at Tata Electronics' upcoming facilities located in Assam and Gujarat. The assembly and testing operations will take place at the Assam facility, while the Gujarat site will function as a foundry.

Additionally, the collaboration plans to investigate opportunities in electronic manufacturing services, particularly related to vehicle electronics.

The agreement aims to assist Bosch in establishing a reliable supply chain for its technology products and simultaneously contribute to enhancing India's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing capabilities. Both organizations will also consider local initiatives that can bolster their influence in automotive electronics.

This initiative represents ongoing efforts to improve domestic production in India and lessen dependence on imports in the electronics and semiconductor sectors. The companies have not yet revealed further information regarding investment amounts or project timelines.
