The recently established Bengaluru Center will collaborate closely with The Magnum Ice Cream Company's Global Design Centre in Colworth, UK, and the Regional Innovation hub in Istanbul, Turkey, to develop new products influenced by local consumer insights and thorough market understanding, the company stated.

The integration of worldwide expertise and local significance will enhance the innovation pipeline, elevate product quality, speed up market entry, and realize pertinent global dairy platforms for the Indian market, it states.

The center is created to hasten consumer-driven product and packaging innovation for Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D’Or, Feast, and Twister brands.

Its abilities encompass product and process innovation, packaging, consumer technical insights, and regulatory evaluation, aiding in converting emerging consumer demands into products grounded in Indian flavors and occasions, the company stated.

It encompasses ice cream production, evaluation of products and packaging, sensory evaluations, and a digitally enhanced pilot plant featuring advanced technologies.

It facilitates quicker testing of cups, sticks, cones, kulfi, and high-end ice cream cakes, while cold-chain and climate assessments, 3D packaging mock-ups, and transport simulations ensure that innovations are tailored for actual Indian market scenarios.

“As part of The Magnum Ice Cream Company, we now have access to world-class R&D capabilities, deeper product expertise and a sharper innovation ecosystem. The new Bengaluru ice cream center will help us respond faster to evolving consumer preferences, create products that are relevant to Indian tastes and occasions, and continue building a future-ready ice cream business in India,” Chitrank Goel, Deputy Managing Director, Kwality Wall’s (India) Ltd, says.

“India is one of the world’s most exciting ice cream markets, with fast-evolving tastes, occasions and expectations. The new Bengaluru RD&I Centre brings together our global science, technology and culinary expertise with deep local consumer insight, helping us to move faster from idea to market-ready innovation,” Zbigniew Lewicki, Chief Research, Development & Innovation Officer, The Magnum Ice Cream Company says.

From product and packaging design to sensory evaluation and cold-chain verification, this new center will be crucial in developing products that are increasingly relevant, unique, and appealing for consumers in India, he notes.

Earlier this year, the Magnum Ice Cream Company revealed the introduction of Magnum Caramel Pop in India, an innovative product that adds a new dimension to the brand’s premium ice cream lineup.

Magnum Caramel Pop embodies the brand’s commitment to innovation in its products. Made with Magnum’s rich Belgian chocolate, blended with caramelized pops and layered over swirls of caramel ice cream, the latest creation provides a multi-textured experience for customers.

As a division of TMICC, a global ice cream enterprise valued at US$10.59 billion (€9 billion), Magnum remains a brand that merges worldwide knowledge with KWIL’s local traditions, production capabilities, and distribution systems. It is experiencing double-digit expansion, especially in the quick commerce sector in India.
