TotalEnergies Teams Up With Mistral to Develop Digital Solutions
To develop digital solutions that will improve the performance of its energy business and industrial assets, increase energy efficiency, and lessen its environmental effect, French oil giant TotalEnergies has teamed up with artificial intelligence (AI) company Mistral.
Teams are already meeting at the locations of both businesses as part of the collaboration.
As per the agreement, teams from both businesses will work together to establish a collaborative innovation lab.
To test and create cutting-edge digital solutions, Mistral AI will provide its AI technology and TotalEnergies will offer its experience in energy production, namely in the areas of renewable and low-carbon energy.
Digital solutions for various use cases, particularly the production of renewable energy, will also be tested in the lab.
The partners will work together to look at TotalEnergies' options for implementing AI infrastructure in light of the European digital sovereignty challenge.
The agreement is a reflection of TotalEnergies' choice to use artificial intelligence and digital technologies to boost productivity at its manufacturing plants and facilitate its transition.
AI has historically been mostly utilized by TotalEnergies in earth science, to enhance predictive maintenance, and to identify any problems with the equipment in its facilities. Nowadays, artificial intelligence (AI) is essential to the company's growth, particularly in the areas of renewable energy production, CO2 emission reduction, and the creation of cutting-edge services that let users manage and maximize their energy consumption.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of TotalEnergies' Digital Factory, which employs 300 developers, data scientists, and other digital specialists. To date, the company has created over 100 solutions, 60 of which use technologies ranging from generative AI to machine learning.
