Upasana Kamineni Konidela Named Director-Projects at Apollo
Upasana Kamineni Konidela will assume the role of Director, Projects, at Apollo Hospitals to oversee the expansion of the hospital projects within the network throughout India, according to reports.
In her new position, Upasana, current the Vice Chairman of corporate social responsibility at the hospital network, will collaborate with Apollo leadership, clinical teams, and project partners on the planning and execution of hospital projects nationwide. The position arises at a moment when the hospital network has scheduled expansion initiatives worth Rs 8600 crore.
Upasana's main priorities will involve advancing the world-class healthcare vision established by her grandfather and Apollo Hospitals' founder, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy.
In her new position, her focus will encompass new facilities, growth and improvements at current hospitals, and uniform design standards throughout patient areas.
"My grandfather, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, built Apollo on the belief that world-class healthcare should be within reach of people in India. My responsibility is to carry that belief into the hospitals we build and the facilities we improve", Upasana Kamineni Konidela says.
"As Apollo grows, I want every project to serve its neighbourhood, create meaningful opportunities for the people who work with us, and help more people take their health into their own hands".

“Good hospital design has a human purpose. Patients should find their way without confusion; families should feel supported; and our doctors and care teams should have spaces that help them deliver excellent care,” she says.
Centering on a more pleasant experience for patients and their families, she will collaborate with project teams on effective clinical environments featuring clear signage and wayfinding for simpler navigation.
Apollo's ongoing expansion strategy has an estimated overall project expenditure of around Rs.8600 crore, which encompasses roughly Rs.1,565 crore dedicated to brownfield expansion initiatives at current facilities, according to the hospital.

The strategy includes enhanced capabilities in existing markets and new establishments in expanding metropolitan areas. The primary areas of focus include Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, as well as Lucknow, Varanasi, Indore, Guwahati, and Ranchi, among other sites, according to the hospital network.

The goal is to simplify access to advanced care and enhance its usability. In every community, a hospital can assist patients far beyond just one appointment, while also providing chances for doctors, nurses, and other professionals as well as the families that rely on them.
