360 ONE WAM Group has named investment banking veteran Aashish Agarwal as its CEO, as the financial services group restructures its leadership to propel its next growth phase.

Agarwal will collaborate with the founders of 360 ONE, while Karan Bhagat, the current managing director and CEO, will transition to the vice chairman position and remain managing director.

Bhagat will concentrate on group strategy, capital distribution, and essential client and institutional connections.

Co-founder Yatin Shah will keep heading 360 ONE’s wealth management division, a crucial element of the group's expansion over the last 18 years. The revised leadership framework is designed to enhance focus on 360 ONE’s three main sectors: wealth management, asset management, and capital markets.

The organization stated that the framework will enable it to offer the collective strengths of its companies to families and institutions through a unified platform. The integrated model is viewed as essential as India's economy grows and clients, including family offices and institutions, demand more advanced financial services.

Bhagat mentioned that the new framework would enable each business to operate with a clearer focus while still functioning as a single group.

“I am extremely excited to continue to build and accelerate the 360 ONE platform, especially at this stage of our country’s journey,” Bhagat says. He added that Agarwal brings “exceptional financial services depth and an owner’s mindset” to the group’s next phase of growth.

Agarwal comes to 360 ONE from Jefferies, where he has held the position of managing director and country head since April 2020. Throughout his six years, he contributed to the growth of the company's operations in India.

Agarwal spent 13 years at CLSA before joining Jefferies, serving as executive director and head of research. He started his career at Merrill Lynch, where he was employed from 2004 to 2007.

Agarwal, a chartered accountant and postgraduate from SPJIMR, Mumbai, offers expertise in capital markets, investment banking, and asset management, as well as in building relationships with institutions and investors.

“I am delighted to be joining 360 ONE,” Agarwal says. “Karan and Yatin have built an exceptional franchise over 18 years, and I look forward to working closely with them to build an Indian financial institution of enduring scale and global standing.”

360 ONE presently oversees assets exceeding Rs 7.8 lakh crore ($82 billion) and caters to over 8,900 families, businesses, and organizations. The organization stated that the broadened leadership framework aims to prepare it for the magnitude of financial services that India's upcoming economic growth phase will necessitate.
