US calls India a 'Tough Negotiator'

The United States referred to India as a “tough negotiator” in trade talks and stated it anticipates that New Delhi and other allies will uphold agreements made with Washington, says US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor in New Delhi.
Gor mentioned in the discussion that India is a formidable negotiator.
He emphasized that the United States anticipates nations that make agreements with Washington to adhere to the conditions of those deals.
Anticipate that nations we have agreements with will uphold those agreements,” the U.S. ambassador to India stated.
Gor mentioned that the trade deal between the two nations was finalized rather swiftly in comparison to other negotiations India has undertaken.
According to Gor, the India-US agreement took a year to complete, whereas the India-EU agreement required 19 years.
He characterized the contract as advantageous for both parties.

The envoy also recognized India's contribution to stabilizing global energy markets during geopolitical tensions.
Gor stated that he values India's collaboration with the US and international community to ensure global oil prices stay stable.
During the conclave, Gor emphasized the increasing strategic and economic alliance between the two nations, stating that India and the United States were looking into collaboration in various advanced fields.

“India and the U.S. are looking into prospects for advanced engines, unmanned systems, and enhanced maintenance and repair operations in India,” he mentioned.
He also remarked that both parties were approaching a crucial point in discussions regarding collaboration on essential minerals.
“U.S. and India are progressing to a crucial phase in finalizing the critical minerals agreement,” stated Gor.
Regarding the energy sector, Gor stated that American firms were prepared to assist India in its efforts to increase nuclear power capacity to address growing electricity needs.

India's electricity demand keeps increasing alongside its economic growth, and fulfilling that demand will necessitate a varied and dependable energy mix. American firms throughout the civil nuclear supply chain are prepared to assist India’s initiative to grow nuclear power capacity, contributing to a stable base load energy supply for the long term,” stated Gor.
