US-India Partnership Critical for Future of AI: Pichai

Sundar Pichai, Google's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), stated on Friday that the partnership between the United States (US) and India has an "essential role in" influencing the future of artificial intelligence (AI).
Speaking at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Pichai remarked, "We are on the brink of a time of rapid advancement and fresh innovations."
The optimal results are not assured. "We need to collaborate to guarantee that AI's advantages are accessible to all and in every location."
He mentioned that Google takes pride in being a bridge between the two nations, with teams from India and the US collaborating on significant projects.
"I am convinced that India will experience an exceptional path with AI, and we are backing it with comprehensive dedication, encompassing products, training, and infrastructure," Pichai stated.

Expanding on this, Pichai mentioned that Google is developing AI solutions for Indian consumers and businesses and has provided 22 Gemma models to AI Coach. The firm is collaborating with the government on practical uses, such as prompt monsoon predictions, health screenings, and increasing access to information in additional Indian languages, he mentioned.

He mentioned that Indian users rank among the world's top adopters of voice and visual search, noting that features for scam detection like 'Circle to Search' and 'Lens' are utilized in India more than in any other region.

Pichai mentioned that these initiatives rely on stable supply chains, with Pax Silica focused on ensuring their security and enhancing business collaborations in essential technologies. Pax Silica is an initiative focused on the silicon supply chain among US allies to address China's expanding AI capabilities. Earlier today, India made a declaration to enter the alliance.
