Varun Kohli Returns as Director And Group CEO at Bharat Express

imgVarun Kohli has returned to Bharat Express, taking on the roles of Director and Group Chief Executive Officer in a decision that brings him back to the media company he previously managed. His comeback occurs during a pivotal moment as the organization plans its upcoming expansion and renews its commitment to enhancing its media footprint.

Kohli contributes almost thirty years of expertise in media and broadcasting to this role. His previous tenure at Bharat Express started in January 2023, after holding executive positions at Times Network as Chief Operating Officer of News Broadcasting, and at iTV Network where he worked as Group CEO. His professional history encompasses content development, operational management, and strategic restructuring, making him well-equipped to address upcoming challenges.

On his LinkedIn profile, Kohli emphasizes robust client-agency partnerships, outcome-focused management, and a direct methodology for team development. He has publicly discussed restructuring approaches and leadership principles within media environments, indicating his plan to apply this knowledge in his restored position.

For Bharat Express employees, Kohli's return provides fresh optimism for directional transparency, consistent management, and chances to participate in an ambitious reconstruction. Supporting operational areas including content creation, technology, and sales may experience improved coordination under his guidance, focused on enhancing performance and regaining forward progress.

India is preparing to debut its first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, marking a historic moment with Kerala serving as the host state for this significant development. The service will run between Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru, marking a substantial advancement in Indian Railways' efforts to transform long-distance transportation and improve inter-zonal railway connectivity. Launched by Northern Railway, this innovative service forms part of an extensive program to enhance the nation's railway infrastructure, emphasizing speed, passenger comfort, and general convenience.

Beyond the Thiruvananthapuram–Mangaluru line, authorities are developing additional routes including Thiruvananthapuram–Bengaluru and Kanyakumari–Srinagar. These planned connections seek to improve cross-country transportation accessibility, facilitating smooth travel between India's far-reaching regions. The launch of these extended sleeper train services addresses increasing passenger demand for quicker, more comfortable transportation alternatives that can effectively link major urban centers and regions.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train emerges from a collaborative effort between two prominent railway organizations. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai oversees the design process, while Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) manages the production. This initiative will produce a 16-car air-conditioned sleeper train capable of carrying up to 1,128 passengers. Every coach is being specifically designed to maximize comfort for overnight journeys.
