Welspun Corp Shares Soar After $1.8 Billion US Pipe Order
Welspun Corp's shares reached a record price of Rs.2,192.70, climbing nine percent on the BSE during Friday’s intra-day transactions after the company obtained a contract valued at $1.8 billion (Rs.17,200 crore) for pipe supply from its manufacturing plant in the US.
At 09:22 AM, Welspun Corp traded seven percent up at Rs.2,149 on the BSE supported by significant volume. A total of 1.4 million equity shares were exchanged at the counter in the initial seven minutes of trading on the NSE and BSE. In contrast, the BSE Sensex decreased by 0.1 percent to reach 77,463.
In the last four weeks, the stock price of Welspun Group company increased by 37 percent. It surged 209 percent from its calendar year 2026 low of Rs.709.75 reached on February 2, 2026. On Thursday, August 20, 2016, after market hours, Welspun Corp announced to the stock exchanges that it had obtained its biggest ever single order—worth around $1.8 billion (Rs.17,200 crore)—for pipe supply from its manufacturing plant in the US.
The execution of the order is planned for FY28 to FY29, which raises the company's global order book to an all-time high of $4.4 billion (Rs.42,100 crore).
This order significantly boosts the company's order book, improves multi-year revenue clarity, and serves as solid proof of the scale, quality, and operational execution strength.
It additionally shows the deepening and increasing trust that significant global energy players have in Welspun as a favored collaborator for substantial, intricate, vital pipe infrastructure projects, the company states.

ICICI Securities states that the $1.8 billion order is a major boon for Welspun Corp, as it greatly enhances the firm's multi-year revenue outlook, with execution occurring from FY28 to FY29.
The order is anticipated to enhance the usage of its US manufacturing plant, boosting operational leverage and fortifying the profitability outlook of the US operations. The global order book has reached $4.4 billion, giving the company significant clarity regarding its large-diameter pipe sector and less reliance on short-cycle order inflows, according to a note from the brokerage firm.

Analysts at JM Financial Institutional Securities remarked on Welspun Corp’s June 2026 quarter earnings, expressing their continued preference for the company due to its solid order book, prudent capital allocation, sound balance sheet, and strong medium-term earnings outlook.
Welspun Corp's leadership reaffirmed its FY27 targets of Rs.20,000 crore in revenue and Rs.2,850 crore in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in spite of geopolitical uncertainties. The firm anticipates staying net cash while adhering to its capital allocation boundaries of RoCE exceeding 20 percent and net debt/EBITDA under 1x.

The US LSAW plant is set to be commissioned by the end of FY26, whereas the KSA DI pipe plant has been delayed to Q3FY27 due to geopolitical issues. The management anticipates that anti-dumping investigations in Saudi Arabia will bolster the forthcoming KSA DI pipe operations and emphasized that future investments will concentrate on established products and regions within its strict capital allocation strategy, the brokerage firm reported.
