WeWork India Names Janak Malkani Head of Managed Office Business

WeworkWeWork India, a leading provider of flexible workspaces, has announced the appointment of Janak Malkani as the Head of Managed Office for India. Additionally, Malkani will lead Sales for the West region, leveraging his market insights and extensive experience to elevate WeWork India's Managed Office offerings.

Malkani, who joins from CBRE where he served as Executive Director of Advisory & Transaction Services in Mumbai, brings an impressive 18-year background in Indian real estate. His career includes significant roles at Cushman & Wakefield, Knight Frank, and Indiaproperties.com. Malkani has played pivotal roles in the India expansion plans of major international retailers like Walmart and DeBeers, showcasing his ability to foster trust and achieve results.

Commenting on the appointment, Karan Virwani, CEO of WeWork India, stated, "We are thrilled to have Janak join our team. The flexible workspace sector has seen approximately 20% year-over-year growth over the past three years, with 60% of this driven by large enterprises and traditional businesses seeking comprehensive office space management solutions to focus on their core operations. Currently, over one-third of WeWork India's business comes from the Managed Office portfolio, which spans over 2 million square feet and serves enterprise clients such as AstraZeneca and Kantar. Malkani’s appointment comes as WeWork India strengthens its commitment to providing end-to-end flexible workspace solutions for businesses of all sizes.
