
Zomato's Deepinder Goyal-backed LAT Aerospace buys Bombardier Jet

A Bombardier Global plane was purchased by LAT Aerospace, a firm supported by Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal.
Reports indicate that the Bombardier Global series aircraft has been sitting at the VIP berth of the Delhi airport since June 2025 and is set to make its first flight today, July 16.
Indamer MJets Airport Services and Bird Execujet Airport Services share ground handling and engineering duties for the plane.
The purchase follows Deepinder Goyal's well-publicized Rs 52.3 crore purchase of an ultra-luxury flat in DLF's The Camellias in Gurugram.
As of June 2025, Forbes reports that Deepinder Goyal owns 36.95 crore shares, or 3.83 percent of Zomato.
This share is worth Rs 9,847 crore at the current market price, making Goyal's net worth $1.6 billion.

Deepinder Goyal is supporting the aviation firm, according to a LinkedIn post made earlier in June by Surobhi Das, co-founder of LAT Aerospace. LAT Aerospace pledges to increase the affordability and accessibility of air travel for underprivileged areas nationwide.
Rich Indians owned more than 151 registered private jets as of 2023, making India the country with the largest private jet fleet in South Asia and the third largest in the Asia Pacific region. Statista, an online portal that specializes in data collection and visualization, estimates that the worldwide business jet market will grow from its 2020 valuation of over $24 billion to $37 billion by 2028.
The demand for private planes is being driven by an increase in the number of affluent Indians.
India's ultra-high-net-worth (UHNI) population is expected to increase by 50 percent by 2028, which will pave the way for a substantial growth in the private jet industry.
Authorities are also acknowledging this expanding market, and facilities and infrastructure are being developed to serve the sector.
The General Aviation terminal at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport was renovated specifically for private aircraft in 2022. The terminal includes specially-trained staff to accept travelers around-the-clock, and it can handle more than 50 people per hour for speedy check-ins.

Telangana's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport opened a new General Aviation terminal in September 2024 that serves private jet operations, while Prime Minister Modi opened a 40,000 square foot luxury business jet terminal at Kochi International Airport in December 2022.
