The Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is a sunrise sector for the economy and is going through a huge digital transformation. The transformation trends in the industry are based on things like the increase in video ads, a clamor for digital experience, and a rise in mobile data usage. The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) pegged the India's M&E sector at $18 billion in 2015 and is expected to reach the $100 billion in 2025. This strong phase of growth of M& E industry is backed by rising consumer demand and improving advertising revenue. According to a FICCI-EY report, the advertising to GDP ratio is expected to reach 0.4 percent by 2025 from 0.38 percent in 2019. The market is projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17 percent between 2020 and 2023.
The changes can be even more complex in a media company as employee's skills and decision are important in the sector. The existence and success in the industry are characterized by creativity and the existence of intangible assets.
