Several months ago, Adani Enterprises, in collaboration with their joint venture entity AdaniConneX, and Google, made a significant announcement about their joint collaboration to create India's most extensive artificial intelligence data center campus and new eco-friendly energy infrastructure in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Google's artificial intelligence center in Visakhapatnam represents a comprehensive investment totaling around $15 billion spread out over a five-year period from 2026 to 2030. This initiative encompasses large-scale data center operations at the gigawatt level, which will be bolstered by a reliable subsea cable network and sustainable energy sources.
The primary goal is to facilitate the processing of the most complex artificial intelligence tasks in India. The project will be realized through strong partnerships with key players in the ecosystem, such as AdaniConneX and Airtel.
The core principles of the Google AI hub, established in partnership with AdaniConneX, involve the creation of a specialized AI data center infrastructure in Visakhapatnam. This infrastructure will greatly enhance computing capabilities, leading the way in advancing India's AI capabilities to a new level.
