Cadence Names Dr. Alok Jain as Managing Director for India

Cadence has disclosed the selection of Dr. Alok Jain as the Managing Director for the India division to lead its strategic expansion in the area, emphasizing the enhancement of operations, promotion of inventive initiatives, and enhancement of partnerships with the Indian government, educational institutions, and businesses to propel the nation's semiconductor landscape forward.

Dr. Alok possesses more than three decades of industry background and specialized knowledge. He became a member of Cadence India in 1997 and presently holds the position of vice president in the System Verification Group (SDA).

Throughout his tenure, he has worked closely with the executive team to influence the development and direction of Cadence's Noida site, directing teams to produce innovative solutions for global clients. His strong leadership and dedication to technology have continuously propelled innovation within the company.

Dr. Alok, a highly esteemed member of the technical community, has served as a representative for industry organizations including IESA and the VLSI Society of India. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and furthered his education with MS and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Alok is a prolific author, having published over 30 technical papers, and is also credited with holding 10 patents related to formal and functional verification. India plays a crucial role as a central hub for the company, hosting more than 30 percent of Cadence's worldwide employees.

A notable portion of the Indian teams are engaged in essential research and development as well as product creation. Over the past 12 years, Cadence has consistently ranked among the top 100 companies in the "India's Best Companies to Work For" survey conducted by the esteemed Great Place to Work (GPTW) Institute.

Since its inception in 1987, Cadence has been a prominent figure in the development of India's semiconductor landscape, demonstrating its commitment as a founding member of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA). Cadence has formed partnerships with various prestigious institutions such as MeitY, AICTE, IITs, and numerous colleges and universities to cultivate a skilled workforce in chip design.

Through initiatives like Chips to Startup (C2S) and India-driven AI design advancements, Cadence is contributing to India's semiconductor objectives and promoting global innovation.
