Dell Technologies Appoints Manish Gupta as its New President
Dell Technologies has announced the appointment of Manish Gupta as its new President and Managing Director for India, effective immediately. He steps into the role vacated by Alok Ohrie, who is exiting the company to focus on personal pursuits and spend more time with his family.
Manish, a seasoned Dell professional with more than 25 years in the IT sector, will directly report to Peter Marrs, President of Asia Pacific Japan & Greater China (APJC) at Dell Technologies. The announcement arrives as Dell deepens its commitment to digital transformation, AI-driven enterprise solutions, and partner collaboration throughout India.
In his earlier positions at Dell, Gupta directed global partnerships, channel strategies, and the Infrastructure Solutions Group in India — making substantial contributions to Dell’s standing in enterprise infrastructure and hybrid cloud solutions.
Peter says, “Manish’s strategic insight, technical depth, and commitment to customer success make him the ideal choice to lead Dell India’s next phase of growth.”
Peter noted in an internal communication. He also extended his appreciation to Alok Ohrie, citing his “incredible impact” on Dell’s journey in India.

Manish holds an MBA from IIM Lucknow and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Panjab University. He is also a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow for Leadership in Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.
With this leadership shift, Dell reinforces its commitment to India as a key market and innovation hub within the Asia-Pacific region.
