Energy Security, Indians in Focus as EAM Jaishankar Calls on UAE

India aimed to enhance its all-encompassing strategic alliance with the UAE by engaging in discussions with high-ranking officials from the Gulf nation amidst the ongoing developments in West Asia.
The visit occurred during a period of shifting regional dynamics and significant disruptions in worldwide supply chains.

The UAE plays a crucial role in India's strategy in the Gulf region, while maintaining strong relations with Iran is also of great importance.
During the visit, Jaishankar engaged in discussions with UAE defense minister Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, expressing appreciation for the UAE's assistance to Indian nationals, especially in Dubai.
Additionally, he conversed with UAE deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as they examined the changing dynamics within the region. He expressed gratitude towards the President for the assistance provided to the Indian community during the current tensions in West Asia.
Additionally, the minister reiterated India's dedication to enhancing the relationship between the two countries.
During the meeting, Jaishankar delivered cordial regards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed gratitude for the UAE leadership's initiatives in safeguarding the welfare of the sizable Indian community in the nation amidst the prevailing regional instability.
Jaishankar expressed great respect in meeting with the President of the UAE, highlighting the discussions centered around advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE, as well as enhancing collaboration in various important areas.

The Minister of External Affairs also had a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during which he once more expressed the gratitude of the Indian government for ensuring the well-being of the Indian community in Dubai.
The visit occurs amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Western Asia region, prompting India to increase its diplomatic engagement with pivotal allies in order to safeguard its strategic interests and diaspora population.
Earlier, Jaishankar engaged in discussions with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the main topics being regional security, economic collaboration, and changing geopolitical landscapes.
He continued to engage with individuals from the Indian community, emphasizing New Delhi's ongoing commitment to ensuring their safety and involvement amidst a time of uncertainty.

The visit highlights the increasing momentum in the relationship between India and the UAE, as both nations work towards overcoming regional obstacles and strengthening their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Meanwhile, Minister of State Pabitra Margherita conveyed sincere condolences on behalf of the Government of India during the 40th day mourning ceremony (Chehlum) of Iran's Supreme Leader, the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which was hosted by the Iranian embassy in New Delhi.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the relationship between India and Iran is based on longstanding historical, cultural, and interpersonal connections. According to the Pakistan High Commission in India, Saad Warraich, their Chargé d’Affaires, was also present at the event.
