India and Russia Review Full Range of Bilateral Ties

India and Russia conducted Foreign Office Consultations to evaluate their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership and engage in dialogue on matters of mutual interest at the bilateral, regional, and global levels.
The Foreign Office Consultations were jointly led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko.

In a post on X, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: "India-Russia Foreign Office Consultations, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, were held in New Delhi today."
"Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership and shared perspectives on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest," he added.
The conversations delved into an array of topics, encompassing both bilateral collaboration and regional and global advancements that piqued mutual interest, while also examining the full spectrum of the India-Russia relationship.
The meeting included a comprehensive assessment of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, with discussions on various bilateral, regional, and global matters of common concern, stated the post by the Ministry of External Affairs.
"Both sides exchanged their priorities in the United Nations. The discussions focused on issues related to United Nations Security Council (UNSC) agenda, in particular counterterrorism, peacekeeping, UNSC reforms, among others," Jaiswal posted on X.
As per a communication from the Russian Embassy in India, the dialogue also covered significant matters on the mutual agenda, particularly focusing on the timetable for forthcoming high-level engagements.

After the meeting, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister held discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The Minister of External Affairs disclosed information about the discussion held on X, stating that the interaction with Rudenko was characterized as ‘positive’.
The Russian delegation also observed that Rudenko was hosted by EAM Jaishankar during his visit, emphasizing the ongoing top-level interaction between the two nations.
Earlier this month, Jaishankar engaged in a telephonic communication with Sergei Lavrov, his Russian counterpart, to deliberate on the conflict in West Asia as well as the enhancement of bilateral relations”.

"A good telecon with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of Russia. Shared our assessments on the West Asia conflict and related diplomatic efforts. Also took stock of our bilateral cooperation agenda," Jaishankar posted on X.
The conversation between the two ministers occurred during the current conflict in the Western Asia region, which ensued following coordinated military actions by the US and Israel against Iran on the 28th of February. Subsequently, Iran retaliated by conducting drone and missile assaults on US assets, key cities in the region, and allied forces in Western Asia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India for a two-day State visit in December. During this visit, he engaged in formal discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both leaders assessed the status of the India-Russia partnership, which has been designated a Strategic Partnership for 25 years.
