Increased collaboration between Italy and India has been agreed upon in fields like manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, energy transition, migration, and mobility.

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani met with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal to discuss these matters.

The significance of collaborative efforts in skill development, digital transformation, migration and mobility, and global connectivity initiatives like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) was also emphasized by both parties.

"India and Italy agreed to prioritise cooperation in several emerging and strategic sectors. These include Industry 4.0, aerospace, energy transition, and sustainable mobility," the commerce ministry says.

According to the ministry, the JCEC produced a number of tangible results, including the two nations' agreement to establish Joint Working Groups in the automotive and space industries and to deepen their collaboration in agricultural and food processing.

Along with expressing a desire to make it easier for qualified professionals to travel between the two nations, they also decided to collaborate in fields like biofuels and green hydrogen.

The Minister was accompanied on the tour by a powerful Indian business group that included the top executives of about 90 companies.

"Both sides identified collaboration opportunities in sustainable agri-value chains, agri-machinery, food packaging technologies, and renewable energy," it says.

The delegation met with local businesses on multiple occasions while touring Italian industries.
