India will send Technical Gear to Myanmar: Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced that India will send technical gear for earthquake relief efforts to Myanmar next month, highlighting the collaborative ties between the nations and asserting that New Delhi has "always supported" Naypyidaw during times of crisis.
Jaishankar's video message was delivered during the opening of the Sarsobeikman Literary Centre, supported by the Indian government, which is aimed at preserving and promoting literary efforts in Myanmar, launched in Yangon on Wednesday.
Emphasizing the strong relationship between the two countries, S Jaishankar stated that India has been the "first responder" in offering assistance to Myanmar.
"We offered assistance during the cyclones, floods, and the COVID-19 outbreak." "'Operation Brahma', after the Mandalay earthquake in March 2025, represented one of India's largest HADR missions, during which we supplied almost 1,000 tonnes of aid, sent an 80-member search-and-rescue team, and set up a field hospital in Mandalay that attended to more than 2,500 patients," he stated.
"Our support after the earthquake has persisted, including a Jaipur Foot limb fitting camp in a Yangon monastery last year that helped over 650 patients, along with the upcoming shipment of technical equipment for earthquake relief efforts next month," he stated.
