King Charles Moves ahead with US Visit

Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles' state visit to the U.S. will proceed as scheduled on Monday, following talks with U.S. officials, despite a shooting at a White House dinner where President Donald Trump was present.
Charles and his spouse, Queen Camilla, are set to arrive on Monday for a four-day state visit, but concerns emerged after a man shot at security personnel near the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on Saturday, causing Secret Service agents to quickly escort Trump from the event.
"I believe it’s excellent; he will be quite secure," Trump stated. "The grounds of the White House are very secure."
Trump stated that there were no signs from officials suggesting any further threats to him or other leaders.
U.S. officials think the shooting was probably aimed at the president and administration members, stated Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche.
Blanche also expressed confidence that Charles would remain safe during his visit to the U.S. this week.

The four-day visit - which will feature a private meeting with Trump and a Congressional address commemorating 250 years of U.S. independence - is aimed at strengthening the tense U.S.-British relations in light of disagreements regarding the Iran war.
