KPIT Technologies Co-Founder, Chairman Ravi Pandit Passes Away

Ravi Pandit, the co-founder and chairman of KPIT Technologies, a prominent firm in the mobility technology sector, and an esteemed leader in the industry, passed away on Friday morning after a short illness, as announced by the company.
The company expressed that it was “deeply saddened” over the demise of its founder and Chairman of the Board on May 8.

Over the past 30 years, Ravi Pandit has been instrumental in transforming KPIT into a global leader with a footprint in 15 countries. The engineering solutions offered by the company have facilitated the operation of millions of vehicles throughout the US, Europe, and Asia.
A chartered accountant who graduated with distinction and an alumnus of the Sloan School of Management at MIT in the US, Pandit also held the position of chairman at Kirtane & Pandit Chartered Accountants (KPCA), a firm providing professional services.
During a career extending over 30 years, Pandit significantly contributed to the progression of technology-driven mobility solutions and sustainability initiatives, both domestically in India and internationally.
Apart from his professional endeavors, he was affiliated with various civic, educational, and policy organizations. He was instrumental in establishing several organizations, including the Pune International Centre and Janwani.

Additionally, he provided support to the Centre for Sustainable Development at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. Furthermore, he held the position of president at the social organization Jnana Prabodhini.
Pandit was also a board member at Thermax Ltd, the World Resources Institute India, and the Aga Khan Rural Support Program India.
The company stated that he served as a representative of Indian industry across various forums, notably holding the position of President of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture.
Moreover, he presided over the Research Council at the Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute. Pandit was notably the sole representative from the private sector within the empowered group for the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the statement indicated.

He had recently initiated the HRIDAY program (Hydrogen Revolution for India’s Development of Agriculture & EnergY), which seeks to foster inclusive growth by utilizing clean-energy technologies. According to the company, Pandit contributed as a co-author to the book "Leapfrogging to Pole-Vaulting," which emphasizes innovation and sustainable transformation.
