Maharashtra Government Inks MoUs of Rs 33,768 Crore

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announces that the state government has entered into 17 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with different companies, securing investments totaling Rs 33,768.89 crore that are anticipated to create over 33,000 jobs.

The MoUs, executed with Fadnavis and Industries Minister Uday Samant present, cover various sectors such as electronics, steel, solar energy, electric buses and trucks, and defence-related industries, which will be established in north Maharashtra, Pune, Vidarbha, and Konkan.

The chief minister guaranteed investors that the Maharashtra government is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience.

The MoUs worth Rs 33,768.89 crore are anticipated to create 33,483 employment opportunities.

"We won't cease at finalizing contracts." "The government will be a partner throughout the entire investment process, making sure there are no obstacles," he stated.

He emphasized the state's 'Maitri' portal, a unified platform designed to expedite approvals for land, permissions, and various clearances for businesses.

Regarding energy sector reforms, Fadnavis highlighted that the newly sanctioned five-year tariff plan will guarantee an annual decrease in electricity rates.

"In the past, electricity rates increased by 9 percent annually. At this point, they will slowly lessen, offering significant relief to sectors," he stated.

The chief minister additionally promised that the state has implemented a policy to maintain the stability and predictability of the investment life cycle, thus enhancing investor confidence.
