Meta India announced that it has appointed Aman Jain as the new Head of Public Policy, amid a period of significant growth in AI adoption, emerging technologies, and the creator economy within the country.

Aman brings with him past experience serving as the Public Policy Director at Amazon. He will be stepping into the role previously held by Shivnath Thukral, who departed Meta in June to assume a position at the prominent fintech company PhonePe.

Aman is anticipated to assume his new responsibilities in early 2026 and will be directly reporting to Simon Milner, the Vice President of Policy for the Asia Pacific region. In his newly appointed position, Jain will be responsible for monitoring the policy strategy and government interactions for Meta's suite of apps, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp.

Aman has amassed over seven years of experience at Google, where he has held various positions in policy and strategy. Additionally, he provided advisory services to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from 2013 to 2014.

Meta's recent appointment in India comes after a reorganization of its leadership structure.

In the month of June, Arun Srinivas was appointed as the Managing Director and Head of Operations for the country by the company.

Srinivas is currently serving as the director and head of the advertising business in India for Meta, where he has overseen collaborations with major advertisers and agencies. Since he started at the company in 2020, he has played a crucial role in advancing revenue drivers such as AI, Reels, and Messaging.

This new progress follows Sandhya Devanathan taking on an increased responsibility, overseeing operations in both India and South East Asia. Srinivas is set to officially begin his new position on July 1, 2025, and will still be reporting to Devanathan.
