According to the reports, Sumit Sadana, CBO and executive VP of Micron Technology, the US memory and storage solutions firm said, Micron Technology is enhancing focus on data center and AI opportunities as part of a shift from product-oriented to market segment-oriented business units. The firm is well set up to increase its resources towards data centers and have the end-to-end capability to serve AI in all sectors.

He added, “AI is moving into the monetization stage as corporations around the world are starting to assess the opportunities for productivity gains by leveraging this AI.”

He emphasized that foundation models are very quickly getting much smarter, allowing software companies to create powerful, scalable applications that use these models, and businesses can deploy these new tools to thousands of employees, significantly boosting productivity starting to proliferate in the market.

Sadana said, “The focus is on more capable PCs and smartphones which, in turn, would need more DRAM, higher performance memory, and more capacity of memory. This will be a big growth driver for memory over the next several years. Micron is anticipating acceleration in demand from autonomous driving in automobiles over the next five years as well.”

Robotics industry will probably dwarf the size of a lot of mega industries today. So, we are very excited about the long-term potential of robotics growth.”

“AI is a multi-year opportunity. There can be some bumps along the way but the trajectory of growth over the long term should be robust.”

His comments come on the back of Micron's strong results for its fiscal third quarter of 2025, which ended on May 29, 2025, largely driven by surging demand for AI-driven memory solutions.
