It aims to develop domestic manufacturing capacity, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and create large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.
“As part of the expansion, Navitas Solar is already progressing with a 2.4 gigawatt (GW) solar cell manufacturing facility at Sisodara, Gujarat, with Phase I involving an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore,” according to the company.
The organization is establishing pilot lines for ingot and wafer production, aimed at enhancing technical skills and laying groundwork for future expansion. The facility for cell production aims to start operations by July 2027.
In line with its strategy to diversify beyond manufacturing into renewable energy production and energy storage, Navitas is working on two solar parks in Maharashtra with capacities of 200 megawatts and 25 MW, respectively, utilizing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and independent power producer (IPP) frameworks.

The company has a solar module manufacturing capacity of 3 GW annually and is seeking backward integration through its solar encapsulant division, Navitas Alpha, while broadening its renewable energy portfolio with subsidiaries like Navitas Planet. The EPC division of the company is also growing its footprint in South Africa to carry out utility-scale and IPP projects.
Our planned Rs 10,000 crore investment over the next five years is a reflection of this ambition", adds Ankit.
Navitas Solar, established in 2013, focuses on producing Mono PERC and high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon solar panels with power ratings reaching 720 watts. The investment plan aligns with the growing focus on domestic production, supply-chain robustness, and enhanced value creation in the solar energy industry, the company states.
