Piyush Goyal Holds Meeting With German Business Leaders

Commerce and Industry Union Minister Piyush Goyal conducted multiple discussions with leading German business executives to enhance commercial and industrial partnerships between India and Germany.

Through a social media announcement, Goyal revealed his meeting with Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG, in Berlin. Their conversation centered on expanding collaborative efforts in automotive technology, artificial intelligence, and sophisticated manufacturing industries.

The dialogue also covered India's extensive potential for expansion and methods to reinforce the Indo-German alliance in technological innovation and industrial development.

The minister additionally convened with Martin Herrenknecht, who founded and leads Herrenknecht AG. Their talks concentrated on the firm's expansion strategies within India and its involvement in the country's rapidly developing infrastructure domain through improved domestic operations and technological alliances.

Goyal engaged with Tobias Bischof-Niemz, a Management Board member at ENERTRAG, to investigate potential partnerships supporting India's transition to clean energy.

Their discussion examined approaches to advance India's achievement of sustainability objectives within the renewable energy field.

 

During a separate meeting, Goyal spoke with Michael Masur, who heads the Vehicle Mobility Solutions Division at RENK GmbH. They explored investment possibilities in India's defense industry and investigated fresh cooperation opportunities in engineering solutions, digital transformation, and intelligence systems.

The Minister further met with Jochen Hanebeck, who leads Infineon Technologies AG, sharing perspectives on possible partnerships within semiconductor manufacturing and carbon reduction initiatives.

Goyal also participated in a compelling conversation with Ola Kallenius, the Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Group.

The discussion centered on the firm's activities in India and its expansion strategies, with special emphasis on promoting innovation and environmentally responsible development within India's automotive sector.

Throughout his trip, Goyal additionally had a meeting with HE Xavier Bettel, who serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Cooperation of Luxembourg.

The two parties explored ways to enhance commercial relationships between India and Luxembourg, leveraging current advantages and identifying fresh prospects that would serve both nations' economic interests.

Goyal's official trip represents an important achievement in strengthening India's relationship with Germany. The visit carries special importance since 2025 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, demonstrating the profound nature, durability, and enduring power of the two countries' diplomatic connections.
