Rolls-Royce CEO Meets PM Modi and Plans India Expansion

The Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce, Tufan Erginbilgic met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the expansion plans of the company in India with the aim of integrating with the development of the nation under the initiative of Viksit Bharat.

Rolls-Royce India posted a photo from the meeting, indicating that the conversations centered on the strategies the company is implementing to harmonize its expansion goals with India's enduring development objectives as outlined in the government's Viksit Bharat vision.

The company announced its plans to enhance its Global Capability Centre in India, aiming to make it the largest facility of its kind globally.

Additionally, it stated its commitment to collaborating with Indian partners to jointly develop sophisticated manufacturing processes and high-value engineering capabilities. Based on reports, discussions also addressed how Rolls-Royce's cutting-edge technologies could contribute to India's self-reliant goals in defense and key industries.

The gathering coincides with India's emergence as a crucial center for worldwide engineering services, aerospace supply chains, and industrial advancement.

Global companies have been establishing and developing operational bases and procurement channels in the nation due to its proficient workforce and expanding local market.

 

Erginbilgic has previously emphasized the significance of India as a key focus for Rolls-Royce. In statements made in October 2025, he expressed the company's substantial aspirations to establish India as a primary market, specifically pointing out potential opportunities in civil aerospace, defense, and power systems, according to reports.

Rolls-Royce has announced its intention to enhance local collaborations, allocate resources towards skill enhancement, and boost procurement from Indian vendors as strategic measures in its enduring commitment to the nation's industrial framework.

The corporation recently unveiled an expanded Global Capability and Innovation Center in Bengaluru, which it has identified as on schedule to become its largest hub for capabilities worldwide, providing crucial support for business sectors such as aerospace and defense.

India's increasing involvement in sophisticated engineering and manufacturing value chains is highlighted by this expansion. Rolls-Royce is demonstrating a heightened commitment to India by viewing it not only as a hub for services, but also as a crucial market and strategic partner.
