Snap Eyes Partnerships With Salesforce, Nvidia for AR Glasses

Snap revealed collaborations with firms like Salesforce, Nvidia, and Amazon Web Services to incorporate workplace solutions into its Specs augmented-reality glasses, attracting business interest to establish a position in the fiercely competitive market.
Launched in June at a steep cost of $2,195, Specs represents a significant investment by the social media firm headed by Evan Spiegel in a segment attracting more funding and consumer attention, which is primarily controlled by major competitor Meta.
Apple, nonetheless, has experienced varied outcomes in establishing its Vision Pro headset as a popular success, highlighting the difficulties confronting the AI-driven device market.
To boost sales in a challenging market, Snap is marketing its AR glasses as a workplace tool for companies looking for hands-free computing options in settings typically separate from desktops, including factory floors, retail stores, and field service tasks.
Snap announced that Salesforce, a creator of enterprise software, would integrate its AI agent platform, Agentforce, into Specs, enabling employees to retrieve company information and automate tasks through the glasses.
Nvidia will support the AI, enabling Specs to analyze a worker's visual surroundings and access pertinent company information, while Amazon Web Services will provide its AI assistant, permitting employees to execute tasks like checking product availability through voice commands.

Specs' charging case, available separately, will feature cellular connectivity via its telecom partners, such as Verizon in the US, Orange in France, and BT Group's EE in the UK.
Snap, which unveiled the Specs Intelligence AI service, has indicated that the glasses are anticipated to start shipping this fall in the U.S., UK, and France. Beginning in October, Snap announced that consumers can experience Specs at the Westfield Century City shopping center in Los Angeles.
Snap Inc. asserts that the journey to widespread augmented reality leads through manufacturing sites and service vehicles, rather than solely within homes. The social media firm announced a series of business collaborations with Nvidia, Amazon Web Services, and Salesforce aimed at establishing its upcoming $2,195 Specs AR glasses as a hands-free computing device for companies.

The announcement signifies a strategic shift for Snap (SNAP), which launched the consumer-oriented device in June following years of testing hardware aimed at developers. By appealing to corporate purchasers, Chief Executive Officer Evan Spiegel is striving to create demand in a smart glasses market where Meta Platforms has gained an initial advantage and Apple's more expensive Vision Pro headset has faced challenges in achieving success.
As part of the agreement, Salesforce will incorporate its Agentforce AI platform into Specs, enabling employees to access company information and streamline workflows using the glasses. Nvidia will provide the foundational AI features that enable the device to analyze a user's visual surroundings and access pertinent information. AWS will provide its AI assistant, allowing for voice-command capabilities like verifying product availability.
