Sony Pictures Networks India Makes Leadership Realignment

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) revealed a reorganization of its leadership team to transform into a content-focused, platform-flexible, and multi-language entertainment firm. The restructuring initiative is designed to enhance complete ownership of content, expedite collaboration between television channels and Sony LIV, and facilitate a more cohesive strategy for monetization across both traditional and online platforms.
Nachiket Pantvaidya has been appointed to lead Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Sony Marathi, and the movie production business as part of the redesigned leadership structure. Ajay Bhalwankar will take charge of Sony SAB, the movies cluster, free-to-air (FTA) and infotainment channels.

SPNI announced its intention to designate a new leader for its digital division, with further information to be disclosed upon the completion of succession planning.
Meanwhile, the responsibilities of the digital sector will be supervised directly by Managing Director and CEO Gaurav Banerjee in the interim. Rajesh Kaul has been designated to oversee this unified revenue initiative in the role of chief revenue officer. Following the implementation of the new operational structure, Akshay Agrawal has been promoted to oversee linear advertising sales, Makarand Palekar to manage linear distribution, and Ranjana Mangla, who is currently in charge of digital advertising sales, will also be responsible for strategizing the growth of the company's YouTube platform. Manish Aggarwal has been appointed to lead Sony LIV's business-to-business and syndication operations. These four executives will all report directly to Kaul.
The change in leadership comes in the wake of the organization's strategic move to downsize its staff by approximately 10 percent in an effort to streamline costs and restructure, according to sources knowledgeable about the situation.
The decision is anticipated to affect roughly 120 workers in India.
