Suzlon Group Appoints Paulo Fernando Soares as President – Europe

Suzlon Group has bolstered its global leadership framework by appointing Paulo Fernando Soares as President – Europe, indicating a refreshed commitment to growing its presence in one of the globe’s most established wind energy markets.
The shift is in accordance with the company's Suzlon 2.0 strategy, which focuses on global expansion, operational strength, and enhanced market involvement.
Paulo will oversee Suzlon’s operations in Europe, focusing on developing regional capabilities, forming strategic partnerships, engaging customers, and ensuring market access.
His responsibilities also encompass establishing a robust organizational structure to facilitate sustained growth across various European markets, where demand continues to be fueled by government-driven renewable energy implementation.

Europe continues to be a vital area for the worldwide wind energy industry, supported by ambitious decarbonization goals, modernization of the grid, and consistent funding in renewable infrastructure. Suzlon’s management thinks the area presents a distinct chance to expand operations by fostering tighter cooperation with utilities, developers, and supply chain associates. Operating in 17 countries across the globe, Suzlon seeks to utilize its international experience to enhance its standing in Europe.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, emphasized that Europe ranks as one of the largest and most competitive markets for wind energy worldwide. He observed that Paulo’s knowledge of wind technology, clientele, and various regional markets will aid Suzlon’s extensive global goals and facilitate growth in Europe.
Paulo has nearly four decades of expertise in the wind energy sector, with experience in Germany, Brazil, China, and Spain. His professional background features high-level positions in business development, sales, and operations with wind turbine manufacturers from both Western and Asian regions. Significantly, he previously dedicated five years to Suzlon, contributing to the development of the company’s operations in Asia.

Regarding his return, Paulo expressed enthusiasm about collaborating closely with Suzlon's global and Indian leadership teams. He highlighted Suzlon’s initial contribution to promoting wind energy and its existing technological foundation, which he asserts will aid in increasing market share in Europe as the energy transition accelerates.
