Magenta Mobility, an expert in integrated electric mobility solutions, and Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle division of the Hinduja Group, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the acquisition of 500 SWITCH IeV4 (Intelligent EV) units spanning two years. The pivotal moment of vehicle flag-off and key handover was orchestrated by Maxson Lewis, Magenta Mobility's esteemed founder and CEO, alongside Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility. The event garnered attention with the presence of numerous clients, underscoring the significance of this collaborative endeavor, as announced by the companies.

Magenta Mobility's collaboration with Switch Mobility is geared towards leveraging the latter's commercial electric vehicles to bolster Magenta's last-mile and mid-mile intra-city services across India. According to a media release, the partnership not only seeks to integrate Switch Mobility's EV technology but also aims to enrich Magenta Mobility's service offerings, which include logistics, charging solutions, and technology integration.

Maxson Lewis said, "We are thrilled to join hands with Switch Mobility to accelerate our commitment to decarbonize logistics in India. This collaboration underscores our unwavering dedication to spearheading the transition toward safe, smart, and sustainable mobility solutions. With these eLCVs, we will be able to offer an increased payload capacity to our clients. Combined with our existing fleet management, charging and technology platforms, we will be offering a strong opportunity for the logistics sector to go electric. This is just the beginning of our association and together, we aim to redefine the future of logistics in India”.

Mahesh Babu said, “As the global urban mobility landscape experiences a transformative shift towards electric vehicles, we at Switch Mobility take pride in our position at the forefront of this historic evolution. Our SWITCH IeV4 which is India’s first eLCV in 3.5-ton category is built on a cutting-edge 310V high-voltage architecture for enhanced performance. With a superior payload, extended range, and maximized volumetric space, the vehicle offers a significantly better TCO. This game-changer will accelerate progress towards a sustainable future. The strategic partnership with Magenta Mobility strengthens our commitment to a cleaner future. Renowned for their innovative approach to logistics, Magenta Mobility brings a data-driven perspective that perfectly complements our vision”.

Switch Mobility's Intelligent eLCV, the IeV4, boasts a 32.2 kWh battery and a payload capacity of 1700 kg, making it a formidable choice for efficient operations. With a spacious cargo area and a range of 120 km, it ensures safe and comfortable journeys. Its robust performance is backed by a 60 kW motor and 230 Nm torque. Additionally, the Switch iON system, a proprietary connected technology telematics solution, enhances fleet operations' efficiency and cost-effectiveness. These specifications perfectly align with Magenta Mobility's growth plans for FY25, particularly in strengthening the eLCV segment. The collaboration signifies a significant step towards Magenta Mobility's ambitious 'Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar' program, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025, as per the release.
