Tata Communications Appoints Ganesh Lakshminarayanan as MD & CEO

imgTata Communications made public the selection of Ganesh Lakshminarayanan to serve as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (Designate) of the organization. Tata Communications announced that the appointment of Lakshminarayanan as MD and CEO will be contingent upon the acquisition of required regulatory authorizations.

The company will notify the stock exchanges once the requisite regulatory approvals have been obtained, and Ganesh Lakshminarayanan has been appointed as Managing Director & CEO by the Board of Directors.

Lakshminarayanan held the position of Managing Director and Group Vice President at ServiceNow India and SAARC, leading efforts to expand market presence for the prominent enterprise software company.

With over three decades of global management expertise in various sectors such as multinational companies, B2B startups, and Indian businesses, he possesses a wealth of experience.

Before becoming a part of ServiceNow, Lakshminarayanan held the position of CEO at Airtel Business in India, where he also managed the Enterprise Business division. Under his leadership, the enterprise division was honored with the Chairman's Award for Outstanding Business Unit in the fiscal year 2023, achieving a 50 percent growth rate over a three-year period and expanding market share from 30 percent to 33 percent.

Prior to joining Airtel, Lakshminarayanan played a key role in India's entrepreneurial landscape, providing guidance to Sequoia Capital and collaborating with various companies within their portfolio, such as Mu Sigma, Capillary Technologies, and Practo.

Additionally, he has assumed significant positions of authority, including Chief Operating Officer at Capillary Technologies and Chief Delivery Officer at Mu Sigma.

 

In his earlier professional endeavors, he gained valuable experience during a significant period of employment at Dell, where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the company's operations in India approximately 20 years ago.

Lakshminarayanan has obtained an MBA with honors from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Guindy Engineering College in Chennai, where he graduated at the top of his class as a gold medalist.
