"This Hackathon Will Build the Blockchain Ecosystem for India", says Raj Kapoor

“This hackathon will help us further accelerate building the Blockchain ecosystem for India – Block by Block!”,  says Raj Kapoor, Founder and Chairman, India Block Chain Alliance, whose company in partnership with India Accelerator (IA), India's only seed accelerator program, to host BlockStart Hackathon 2021. an entrepreneurial program aimed at accelerating early-stage Blockchain firms.

The entrepreneurial program aimed at accelerating early-stage Blockchain firms upholds a theme aimed at aiding India's journey towards AtmaNirbhar Bharat covering existing potential and use cases in the fields of health care, e-government, agriculture, and finance.

Students, university teams, individuals, and existing startups are all welcome to participate in the campus entrepreneurship program. IA and IBA will focus on fostering the companies while making them industry-ready and expanding their opportunities to disrupt the market as part of the initiative.

In 2021-22, IA and IBA plan to advance 15 blockchain startups through the initiative.

The application period for program applications will begin on November 15th and end on December 5th, with a final demo day on December 15th. Following the final demo day, existing cash prizes, credits, and perks, as well as an opportunity for funding and mentorship with the finest in the field, will be awarded.

“Our collaboration with IBA is in sync with our vision to accelerate Blockchain startups in India. IBA and IA have a strong network of mentors to help students and aspiring entrepreneurs drive innovation in Blockchain technology”, says Maninder Singh, CTO and Co-founder, IA Labs.

“Web3 Blockchain DApps will be the next wave of disruption which will propel the Indian startup ecosystem towards the realization of SDG goals”, adds Singh.

 

Indian startups are leveraging Blockchain technology innovation. The startup ecosystem is seeing enhanced digital infrastructure and a thriving pool of IT talent, giving Blockchain technology a strong push to become a worldwide leader.

Fintech, Edutech, and Healthtech are developing industries, whereas eCommerce and Aggregators have matured. Bangalore, Mumbai, and the National Capital Region (NCR) are the top startup destinations in India, accounting for more than 65 percent of all startups.

Given the rapid growth and adoption of Blockchain technology in today's world, IA and IBA have created BlockStart Hackathon 2021 to highlight the next generation of Blockchain entrepreneurs, with IA Labs serving as the event's virtual pitch day tech partner.
