Elon Musk Joins Modi-Trump Call on West Asia Crisis

The White House has addressed claims regarding a phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi concerning the Iran war.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the two leaders engaged in a “productive discussion” and emphasized that President Trump maintains a strong bond with Prime Minister Modi.
“President Trump enjoys a strong rapport with Prime Minister Modi, and this conversation was fruitful," stated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement.
According to reports, billionaire Elon Musk participated in the call on Tuesday as well. His presence indicated an unprecedented occasion, as a private individual participated in a conversation between two leaders during a time of conflict. US officials acknowledged Musk's involvement but stated it remains uncertain why he was part of the discussion or if he contributed during the call.
This marked the initial discussion between Trump and Modi since the West Asia conflict started on February 28. The conversation centered on the escalating tensions in the Gulf area.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor mentioned that both leaders discussed the changing situation and emphasized the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz accessible.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the necessity for the Strait of Hormuz to stay open, safe, and reachable. He stated that this is crucial for international peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
In a post, PM Modi referred to the interaction as "beneficial" and stated that India backs de-escalation and the prompt reinstatement of peace. Both parties consented to keep in contact to promote stability.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical international oil pathway, transporting approximately 20 percent of the global crude trade. Any interruption could impact energy markets and economies globally, including India.
The report indicated that Musk's presence implies he might have repaired his relationship with President Trump following a public disagreement last year. The two had a confrontation after Musk departed from his governmental position, where he was managing initiatives to decrease the federal workforce.
