Industry Leaders Urges Next Innovation Phase for Telecom, Others

imgDuring the opening day of the India Mobile Congress, Asia's premier technology platform, industry leaders praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious vision for positioning India as a worldwide frontrunner in telecommunications, encompassing 5G, 6G, and cutting-edge optical communication technologies. 

The 9th India Mobile Congress (IMC) commenced today at New Delhi's Yashobhoomi Convention Centre. Aligning with this year's theme of 'Innovate to Transform', the opening day of IMC 2025 featured international leaders, forward-thinkers, innovators, and exhibitors presenting revolutionary technologies, concepts, and applications spanning various industries and sectors.

Communications Minister and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia launched the International 6G Symposium 2025 during the first day of IMC 2025. During his address, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized India's evolution from being a technology user to becoming a worldwide digital pioneer, mentioning India's objective to obtain 10 percent of worldwide 6G patents and its expanding satellite communications sector, which is expected to grow threefold by 2033.

The symposium assembled international thought leaders, policy makers, industry professionals, and academic representatives to discuss future 6G technologies, research partnerships, standardization initiatives, and strategies for India to spearhead the 6G innovation landscape.

The opening day of IMC 2025 also featured the launch of the Satcom Summit in partnership with IN-SPACe and the International Bharat 6G Symposium.

 

The day additionally united industry executives, startups, and technology advocates who gathered to explore collaborative solution development that will drive the upcoming phase of inclusive advancement and strengthen India's expanding prominence in digital innovation.

At the launch of IMC 2025, Ramakrishna P., who serves as CEO of India Mobile Congress, stated that IMC 2025 represents a significant achievement, establishing India's position as the leading technology and innovation center in Asia. He emphasized that through international partnerships, the Startup World Cup India, and emphasis on 6G, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and additional cutting-edge technologies, the event will bring together industry leaders to influence the country's technological advancement.

Throughout the event, business executives took part in roundtable conversations covering important subjects such as Beyond Connectivity: Making Tomorrow's Innovation Engines Accessible to All, Digital Infrastructure First: The Role of Passive and Active Infrastructure in Connecting AI Capabilities with Rural Development, 5G advancement: Enhancement through Smart RAN, Edge AI: Realizing Benefits from Agricultural to Industrial Applications, and India's Telecommunications Equipment Production Growth: Fostering Innovation, Export Growth, and Technological Independence.
