Kartik Chandrasekhar Appointed as Mars Snacking’s Growth Chief

Kartik Chandrasekhar, previously serving as the chief commercial officer at Kellanova, has transitioned to the position of Chief Growth Officer for Mars Snacking encompassing Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and ANZ regions.

In a note, he shared, “I'm energized by the opportunity ahead: bringing together strong brands with diverse teams”. Grateful for the trust, and excited for the journey ahead”.

Throughout a career that has lasted for over two and a half decades, Chandrasekhar has gained significant experience in the field of Marketing, initially starting out in Customer Development.

In this role, he was commended for achievements in driving growth and implementing technological advancements to enhance connectivity for both distributors and the salesforce. Chandrasekhar embarked on his professional journey as a management trainee at Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and dedicated more than 20 years to Unilever.

He commenced his career in 1998 as a management trainee and progressed through various positions throughout his tenure. Serving as the global brand vice president for Lifebuoy and Pears for nearly eight years, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in brand management.

“I look forward to learning alongside our teams, and driving growth rooted in the Mars principles of quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency, and freedom”.

 

Additionally, Chandrasekhar assumed the role of regional brand director for foods in South East Asia at Unilever. He served as the Global VP for Lifebuoy, overseeing strategy, innovation, and communication for nearly 10 years. Under his leadership, Lifebuoy grew to become a one billion euro brand and was recognized as one of the top performers in the Skin Cleansing industry.

After the successful acquisition of Kellanova by Mars Incorporated, Prashant Peres has been appointed to lead the merged organization in India. Peres previously held the position of Managing Director at Kellanova South Asia before this appointment. Peres assumed the role of Managing Director at Kellanova South Asia (formerly called Kellogg India & South Asia) in February 2022.

Before that, he gained experience at Mondelez International, where he held the position of President and Managing Director for the Indonesia business, and also oversaw the chocolates business in India. Mars, Incorporated recently confirmed the finalized acquisition of Kellanova, marking a significant milestone for the company.

The newly established Mars Snacking division now encompasses various prominent snacking segments such as chocolates, confectionery, breakfast cereals, and chips. Within this portfolio are well-known brands like Pringles, Kellogg’s, Snickers, Skittles, Twix, and M&M, among others.
