Ex-PepsiCo executive George Kovoor assumes the role of CEO at Parle Biscuits as the company fortifies its leadership team for upcoming growth phases.

Parle Biscuits has named George Kovoor as its new Chief Executive Officer, starting 1 September 2026, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in the consumer goods industry to the company.

The appointment positions a seasoned consumer business executive at the forefront of one of India's biggest and most esteemed food companies. Parle stated that Kovoor's background in various markets and consumer sectors will aid its growth goals as consumer tastes keep changing.

Kovoor has joined Parle Biscuits, which produces well-known brands like Parle-G, Monaco, Hide & Seek, Krackjack, and Melody, after over 30 years at PepsiCo. His appointment arrives amid escalating competition in India's packaged foods and confectionery sector, evolving consumption habits, and rising demand in both urban and rural areas.

The company stated that Kovoor's background in developing consumer enterprises and overseeing various markets was crucial to the leadership's decision.

 

Discussing the appointment, Ajay Chauhan, Managing Director of Parle Biscuits, stated that the company anticipates collaborating with Kovoor to enhance Parle's current strengths while generating new opportunities for sustainable development.

Chauhan mentioned that Kovoor's capacity to produce outcomes, nurture talent, and handle intricate markets will be beneficial as the company keeps adjusting to evolving consumer demands.

The organization characterized the appointment as a step to enhance its leadership team further.

Kovoor steps in during a period when consumer goods firms are managing growth, innovation, broadening distribution, and evolving consumer demands.

For Parle, the shift in leadership represents stability along with new managerial supervision. Boasting one of the most powerful distribution networks nationwide and a collection of well-known brands, the company is preparing for its next phase of growth with new leadership.

With competition escalating in the food and confectionery industry, analysts will pay close attention to how Kovoor utilizes his consumer business expertise to shape Parle's upcoming growth plan.

Earlier this year, In 2025, Parle products were selected by Indian households 8.5 billion times, as stated in the Brand Footprint India 2026 report from Worldpanel by Numerator. The number equates to approximately 23 million selections daily, or over 250 times each second. Parle has maintained its status as India’s Most Selected In-Home FMCG Brand for the 14th straight year.

The report evaluates brand selection through Consumer Reach Points (CRPs), which integrate the count of households in a market, the share purchasing a brand, and the frequency of annual purchases.

Parle achieved 8.5 billion CRPs in India, the leading figure among FMCG brands in the nation. The report indicates that the number exceeds the worldwide CRPs documented by several of the most popular FMCG brands in all the markets included in the study.
