VML India President Launches Integrated Communications Agency
Saurabh Saksena, the previous president of VML India, has introduced SAULV, an all-encompassing communications firm that combines creative thinking and artificial intelligence to generate innovative opportunities for brands and companies.
Saksena is aiming to redefine the landscape of contemporary marketing and strategic communications in an era dominated by artificial intelligence through the implementation of SAULV.

“If there’s something keeping you up at night, maybe it’s time to SAULV it,” he quipped in a recent LinkedIn post, inviting brands to reach out and explore the agency’s capabilities.
Saksena boasts a wealth of expertise spanning more than 30 years in advertising, integrated marketing, consumer behavior, and business management.
Prior to establishing SAUVL, he held the position of president at VML India, but stepped down in mid-2024 due to the amalgamation of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson.

At SAULV, the main emphasis lies in integrating strategic communication, comprehensive funnel amplification, innovative content production, and extensive AI development to support brands in transcending traditional storytelling and establishing more robust connections with their target audience.
Looking back on the previous eighteen months, Saksena describes his experience as one of simultaneously assuming the roles of a student, implementer, and innovator, blending a strong entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic appreciation for the potential of generative artificial intelligence to fuel innovation.
He comments that this journey has enabled him to become exceptionally proficient in Generation AI and has challenged him to revisit the fundamental principles of managing operations.
Saksena started his professional journey at Clarion Communications and has since held positions at well-known agencies such as Ogilvy Outreach, Mudra, DDB Mudra Communications, Mid Day, JWT, and Red Fuse Communications. In December 2023, VML established a leadership team for the Asia Pacific region, which included leadership teams for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Southeast Asia, and East Asia.

In October 2023, WPP consolidated its creative entities Wunderman Thompson and VMLY&R to establish VML. Jon Cook has been appointed as the chief executive officer, and Mel Edwards will serve as the global vice president of the newly formed VML. WPP stated that VML will be recognized as the leading creative organization globally, integrating brand experience, customer experience, and commerce.
