Wistron Corporation stock surged 9.7 percent following the announcement of the launch of its inaugural US facility dedicated to manufacturing AI servers for Nvidia.

The D1 AI smart facility, a $700 million, 324,000-square-foot establishment in Fort Worth, Texas, is currently manufacturing Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, a sophisticated AI processing platform.

It will eventually grow to manufacture Nvidia’s Vera Rubin Superchip, essential for driving the future of AI computing.

“In the next couple of years, this location will be one of the most important, as we build AI infrastructure here in the US,” Wistron Chairman Simon Lin says.

The recent footprint underscores a wider trend of Taiwanese technology leaders increasing their presence in the US, after TSMC’s announcement last week about significantly boosting its investment in Arizona.

“Demand for AI factories—the engine of this next industrial revolution—is incredible, and they must be produced everywhere,” Jensen Huang, chief executive officer of Nvidia, says.

Wistron’s latest facility will increase the production of Nvidia AI servers, enhancing local capacity to assemble and test the systems that are part of Nvidia’s DSX infrastructure for deploying energy-efficient AI factories on a large scale.

Wistron announced it is developing a new framework for AI infrastructure production based on digital manufacturing, energy efficiency, and local operations.

Wistron stated that the Fort Worth facility will act as the central hub for its US manufacturing activities, noting that the investment signifies the next stage of AI infrastructure advancement. Nvidia’s partner production sites cover 43 states in the US, with collaborators like Wistron, TSMC, and Foxconn, expected to add around $485 billion to the US GDP by 2026.

By simulating the design and validation of its newest Fort Worth facility, and implementing digital twins and agents throughout its factories, Wistron's technological advancements and dedication to quality and sustainability are creating a model for other manufacturers. Its leadership in advanced manufacturing is contributing to the formation of the upcoming industrial revolution.

The new US plant enhances the AI infrastructure supply chain by increasing local capabilities to assemble and evaluate NVIDIA AI systems. These server components can be incorporated into the NVIDIA DSX framework, whereas DSX offers the shared architecture, software, and partner technologies essential for large-scale deployment and operation of that infrastructure.
