Tata Electronics, L&T Semiconductor Join Hands to Make Chips in India

L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT), a top Indian fabless semiconductor firm, and Tata Electronics, a trailblazer in India's electronics and semiconductor production industry, revealed a strategic alliance aimed at boosting local production of top-tier chip products in India for global clients.

The partnership seeks to develop native design and production skills to facilitate next-gen products in automotive, industrial, communications, security, and intelligent-edge industries.

The collaboration combines L&T Semiconductor’s fabless design expertise with Tata Electronics’ packaging and foundry skills to enhance domestic chip production.

The two companies will collaboratively investigate chip manufacturing and packaging possibilities for L&T Semiconductor’s existing and upcoming products utilizing Tata Electronics’ array of fabrication process technologies and packaging options.

The partnership will also encompass chip design and fabrication enhancements aimed at achieving effective large-scale production.

The collaboration corresponds with the Government of India's vision to "Manufacture in India – for India and for the World," demonstrating a long-term dedication to Semicon 2.0’s emphasis on developing the domestic ecosystem and enhancing value, aiming to establish India as a frontrunner in the global semiconductor sector.
